We're PLAYSENSE, an agency of digital creative nomads focused on the gaming and entertainment industries. We are a creative powerhouse that builds emotional connections between brands and audiences—kind of like the spark that turns a good story into an unforgettable experience.

Originally founded as a game trailer studio within Wargaming, Playsense has grown into a multi-disciplinary and award-winning creative agency. Our core services include game trailers (both engine and CGi), Unreal Engine production, branding, visual communication, in-game cinematics and complex campaigns driven by hard work and hard fun.

Our team of ~80 digital nomads is spread all over the world, including Portugal, UK, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Montenegro, Poland, Cyprus, Serbia, Ukraine, Turkey, Georgia, UAE, Vietnam, Indonesia and the US.

Role Overview:

As part of our growth, we are seeking an experienced Lighting Artist to join our team and contribute to crafting stunning visuals that captivate audiences. In this role, you will bring cinematic scenes to life using your expertise in Unreal Engine.

If you have a strong understanding of lighting principles, cinematic composition, and color theory, along with a passion for delivering stunning visuals, this role is your chance to shine!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cinematic lighting setups in Unreal Engine to create visually compelling scenes.
  • Work on look development and final image assembly to ensure high-quality visual output.
  • Integrate real-time visual effects (smoke, fire, particles, shaders, etc.) seamlessly into projects in collaboration with artists.
  • Perform post-production tasks, including color grading and LUT application, to enhance final renders.
  • Compose scenes with a focus on lighting and atmosphere to achieve desired artistic goals.
  • Collaborate with the art director and team members to ensure a cohesive visual style throughout the project.

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine, with expertise in lighting workflows, post-process tools, and material systems.
  • Experience in look development and assembling cinematic-quality images.
  • Familiarity with compositing and color correction software (e.g., After Effects, Nuke, Fusion) is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Deep understanding of lighting principles, cinematic composition, and color theory.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to various artistic styles and project needs.

Portfolio Requirements:

  • A strong portfolio showcasing your work in lighting, look development, and cinematic scene assembly.
  • Highlight examples of lighting setups, mood boards, and final renders.
