“One shot, no room for mistakes” – in 3D. Super Meat Boy 3D brings the hardcore 2D platformer into a new 3-dimensional world. We had a chance to craft its “brutally cute” style with a team that knew exactly what they wanted. Meat Boy is still a cube of meat – just meatier. Exploring his design, from realistic textures to a more stylized hero, was a blast. He’s still charging through danger to save Bandage Girl. Our task: show his pain-proof spirit and relentless drive to keep coming back – from walls, overseas of buzz saws, through crumbling caves and pools of old trash, no matter how many times he dies – across every level, in every brutal scenario.
